Firearm Licence Qualification (Long-arms) Course
What is this course and why do I need to do it?
This is the Firearms Licence Qualification (Long-arms) course and it is a requirement that all new firearms licence applicants in NSW complete and pass the course or a course approved by the Commissioner of Police (clause 122, Firearms Regulation 2006).
The Sydney International Shooting Centre (SISC) has accredited Firearm Safety and Training Officers, whom are approved by the commissioner of Police to deliver the Firearms Licence Qualification (Long-arms) course.
The Firearms Licence Qualification (Long-arms) course is for longarm firearm use or ownership only. Category H (handgun) licence applicants are required to undertake an approved pistol training course, administered by a pistol club.

Step 1 – enrolment
Complete a Firearms licence qualification (Long-arms) course enrolment form and return it, together with payment of course fee, to the Sydney International Shooting Centre:

Fees are $130 for adults and $70 for minors (12-18 years).
Payment can be made by cheque or money order (made payable to The NSW Department of Arts, Sport and Recreation), credit card or cash (cash payments will be accepted on the day of the course, please circle cash on the enrolment form).
Step 2 – registration
Registration is 30 minutes prior to the course commencement time. At registration you will be required to provide photo identification and a completed P650 Declaration Form. Minors must have a parent/legal guardian present to provide consent and photo identification.

This is a VETAB approved course.
