Range Officer, Sydney International Shooting Centre, Cecil Park. Permanent Full-time. Vacancy No: DASRS09/61. Salary is $39,296 - $46,368. The total remuneration package per annum includes employer’s contribution to superannuation, a laundry allowance of $209 and a First Aid allowance of $721 pa. Salary progression is through competency attainment.
The Range Officer provides assistance to the Venue Manager to ensure that all range and related building infrastructure are ‘fit for purpose’ and appropriately maintained to ensure the safety, comfort and well-being of Venue clients and that the facility functions as an elite sporting venue and that daily range operations comply with the NSW Firearms Registry ‘Shooting Range Approval.’
Selection Criteria:
- Possession of a current Target Firearms Licence (Category Target A & H), current Drivers Licence (Class C) and a current First Aid Certificate.
- Previous experience managing the activities occurring on a shooting range and an understanding in working in an event environment.
- Must possess a working knowledge of a variety of trades and the ability to perform maintenance tasks with an understanding of OH&S requirements and Venue procedures
- Experience in providing high levels of customer service.
- Ability to operate a variety of computer programs including point of sale.
- Ability to develop and implement work plans and procedures.
- Ability to work unsupervised, prioritise work, manage time and achieve specified outcomes.
- Ability to work with others in a team setting.
Notes:
This is a Permanent Full-time position. This position works 152 hours over a four week roster period and will involve shift work on week days, weekends, evenings, and public holidays as required. A willingness to be flexible and work across a seven-day week roster is required. It is an offence under the NSW Commission for Children & Young Peoples Act 1998 for a person convicted of a serious sex offence to apply for child related employment. Background check, including relevant criminal and employment records and relevant AVO will be conducted on recommended applicants. The recommended applicant will be required to undergo a lead blood test at SISC’s expense and return a reading of less than 0.48umol/L for reproductive females and 1.93 umol/L for non reproductive females or males. No offer of employment will be made until all relevant clearances and checks are finalised. Applicants MUST obtain information pack and complete all relevant paperwork.
